Jack's Surgery

Jack had a minor surgery yesterday - he got his tonsils removed! It was a pretty rough experience for him! I took him for a kids tour of the hospital on Wednesday and they showed him the area he would have his surgery and explained about what would happen. He started getting VERY nervous then and was very quiet through the entire tour!
Well, we woke up Thursday morning and got ready to go. We could tell that he wasn't happy about going - but we packed a few of his favorite things (his spiderman blanket and his teddy bear). When we got to the hospital, they took us back to the room where we got him ready. Well, the minute he saw the hospital gown he started to cry - he did NOT want to wear it. We put it on and then put his t-shirt back on over it.
We then waited about 45 minutes while doctors and nurses came in and got things ready. Then it was time for him to go. The two nurses who came to get him were great! They let him take off the hospital gown and just wear his pj's for the surgery. They also let him take his bear - I think that helped! He didn't want to be wheeled in, so Dusty and I watched him walk through the big double doors - and then I lost it. I know he was just getting his tonsils out, but it is hard watching your son walk into surgery.
We waited about an hour and then they came and got us. We went in a room and waited for him. When they brought him in, he was still trying to wake up. When he saw me, he started to cry - poor guy!! It took a while for the anesthesia to wear off - but we were able to take him home around 11:30 a.m. Well, he is doing great now! He loves being able to eat ice cream and popsicles anytime he wants. And, we have to keep telling him to lay down - I think he's getting bored. But, we are thankful everything went good with the surgery and hope that this will help his sleeping problems!

Bree's Tumbling

So, I know this is a little late, but Bree took tumbling class in the summer and loved it!! She was one of the younger kids, but she just loves being around people. She will be taking a dance class and an acting class starting in September. She is definitely our little performer. Here are a few pictures from her last tumbling class...

Help, Please...

So, we haven't been able to get Bree to stay in her bed at night for over a month now. It is getting VERY frustrating. When she comes into our room, I usually make her get a pillow and blanket and sleep on the floor by me - but she is a very loud sleeper. If we take her back to her bed, she usually finds her way back to our room! Does anyone have suggestions for us? Thank you!!!

It's A ...

Well, most of you probably already know by now (since I am horrible about posting things on time), but we found out a few weeks ago that we are having a boy! That explains why I have been so sick, and why it STILL hasn't gone away yet! I was sick with Jack almost the entire pregnancy, but not with Bree. So, there we have it. The kids are so excited. I think Jack had convinced Breelle that she wanted a boy, so she's even excited. But, how can she not be - she will still be the only SPOILED girl of the family:)
Anyways, I think everyone is excited. I'm still struggling with the "Happy" part because it's hard to be excited when you feel so horrible. But, I am so thankful that all is well with the baby and that he will be coming to our family.

1st Grade

Yesterday was Jack's first day of 1st grade - and he was actually really excited to go!! He said he had a lot of fun. I asked what his favorite part about school was, and he said lunch and recess (he gets to eat at school this year - hooray!).
His teachers name is Mrs. Shakespear (cool name) and he seems to like her. So, hopefully he will enjoy school this year more than last year!!

Jack also lost another tooth on the 15th - he was very proud. I can't believe how old he is getting - my baby boy is definitely growing up.

We love you Jack!

Are You Kidding Me???

Me and my friend watched the finale of "So You Think You Can Dance" and we were both SHOCKED by the results! We were certain that Katee would win - she was an amazing dancer and an amazing performer. Then when she got kicked off, we thought hopefully Twitch would win then. But, oh no... Joshua took the crown - WHAT?
He was good and all but I do believe america got this one WAY wrong. If you haven't see the show and want to see any of Katee's amazing dances, come on over. I've got them all recorded... :)
(p.s. don't even get me started on Will getting kicked off a few weekd ago!! he was equally amazing)

Shakespearean Festival

Dusty and I took the kids to Cedar City this weekend. We all had a lot of fun. On Friday afternoon, Dusty and I went and saw "The Taming of the Shrew" at the Utah Shakespearean Festival while the kids went to the festival's daycare. The play was amazing and the kids had so much fun. In fact, that is all we heard about the rest of the night - they wanted to go back!
On Saturday, we went to St. George and did a little school shopping for Jack. Then we took the kids to the Discovery Park in Cedar City. It is a really neat park and the kids had a ton of fun. We went back to the hotel and Dusty took the kids swimming (while I took a nap... :) ). The kids LOVE swimming more than anything. We did have a little scare with Jack trying to swim in the deep end! He is a good little swimmer, but still needs to learn a little more!
That night, we went to see "Othello" - definitely NOT my favorite. It was good, but I didn't think the acting was as good as the day before! But, we still liked it and the kids loved going to the daycare again. The play didn't end until after 11 p.m., so by the time we got to the kids they were exhausted (Bree was sound asleep)!
And then we headed home on Sunday. We had a great time together as a family and I'm thankful that my family indulges me in my love of the theater!! Thank You:)
