Summer Activities

Last year, our summer was very uneventful! We stayed home most of the time and I felt so bad for the kids. We don't really have any friends in our neighborhood, so it makes it hard for them to get out and play.

Well, this year I decided to have a plan so that it would be much more enjoyable. I found an idea of The Power of Moms - Summer Camp Kit. So, I kindof used their ideas and my own and this is what I came up with.

The kids have to be dressed and have breakfast by 9am. They have from 9-noon to get chores, reading, writing, and physical activities done. After lunch, depending on the day, we do our fun activity. Each week we plan out the entire week. Mondays we don't do anything because it's deep cleaning day. Tuesdays are "Take a trip Tuesday" (yesterday we went to the dinosaur museum - I'll post later). Wednesdays are "Wet Wednesdays". Thursday is "Get Creative Thursday" and Fridays are "Friend Friday". I am loving it so far, even though it's only been 2 days. But, it keeps us on a schedule and I think it will really help us have an enjoyable summer.

My goal is to post every day our activities. I know that's impossible for me, but I will do my best :)

We're doing a similar thing using the POM summer kit. It's so nice to have some sort of schedule! Can't wait to hear about all the fun things you guys do. :)
