Jack

Yesterday was a good day for Jack. He came home from school and only missed one on his math test! He also sat down and did his homework without complaining, read out loud to me, and scored a touchdown at his flag football game!

Way to go Jack. I am a very proud mother!!

Fun Pictures

I found these pictures on my dad's camera. Some were taken a while ago - in fact, the picture of my mom with her siblings, 2 have passed away. Also, the one with my Aunt Ann - both my dad and Uncle Jac have passed away - all within 2 years.
I just love the pictures of my dad with the kids - he was such a great grandfather. I miss him so much!! I really miss the calming influence he was to all of us - I wish we could feel that right now :). But, I know he is always with us.

I'm a Failure!

Here are the reasons I am feeling like a failure of a mother...
Here we are in the 3rd week of school and Jack already hates it. For some reason, he has it in his mind that he can't do the work so he won't. He is behind in his reading, and he hates to do it. He hates homework, and most of the time he hates me! I'm not sure what happened but Jack is miserable right now! And, I am completely at a loss as to what to do!!
I have met with his teacher, tried getting him to read with someone, and other things that are not helping. Sometimes I feel I am not cut out for this mother thing.
But, the truth is I love him so much and I am heart broken that he is struggling so much right now. I have tried everything I know to do, and nothing is working. I'm just trying to figure out where I went wrong so I can fix it and get my little guy happy again! Any suggestions are welcome...

Kindergarten

Bree started Kindergarten today - what?? I can't believe she is old enough!! She was so excited - she couldn't sleep very well last night. She is SO different from Jack - he doesn't like school.
