First Show

So, last week was pretty crazy for me! We had 4 shows - Monday was Family Night, Tuesday was Weber Review, Friday was Homecoming, and Saturday was our first competition. Monday was VERY windy (so we didn't have a great show). The rest of the shows went pretty good. We are doing a show called "The Greatest Generation" about WWII. At first, I hated it! I didn't like the concept or anything. Well, it's starting to grow on me - and it actually might end up being one of my favorites. So, here's goes my crazy time...

Below are some pictures of the girls in their uniforms (they are portraying Rosie the Riveter).

Nothing New

I don't really have a lot to update today, but I was just in the mood to write something...
Dad is still doing about the same. He was so tired last night though and didn't look very good. He is sure having a hard time lately. I wish there was something we could do for him.

Dusty & Myles at the nursing home

Bree is enjoying school, Jack is not. I feel so bad for him - I think he's having a hard time making new friends. But, I hope he will soon.
Myles is just Myles - the funniest one in the family. He has started using his feet for everything. Here he is holding the drum with his feet so he could hit it with his hands. Too cute.

Dusty is still working like crazy and supporting me with everything. He's great as always.
And, I'm just adjusting to taking kids to school, work, taking care of kids, dad, etc. I did get to go to a movie last night (All About Steve - weird). But, it was good getting out.
Anyways, I hope you all are doing well.

Sunday with Dad

Yesterday we were able to spend some amazing hours with my dad! It was such a blessing. All the grandkids were there and I know my dad loved it. He seemed a little more aware yesterday, even though I know he doesn't understand where he is or what's going on. But, I took my camera so we could get some pictures with dad. I was so thankful I did. All the grandkids gave him loves and told him that they loved him - it was so emotional!!
But, here are a few pictures of my family with my dad. I am so thankful for the time we have left with him.

Dad Update

Well, I have started that blog for my dad - but right now, I just want to vent. So, I thought I could do that on my blog :). I am BEYOND frustrated today - and, I don't know how to help anymore. This afternoon at the hospital, the social worker came in and told me and my mom that we had to move my dad by tomorrow because her insurance won't pay for the hospital anymore. So, she helped us look into nursing homes. At first, she called the one in AF and they told her they had a room - so me and my mom were relieved to know he'd be that close. Well, they called back and said nevermind! They won't take my dad in his condition - I guess he will take too much of their time! So, the social worker then called my mom later and said that no nursing homes in Utah County will take my dad. So we have to put him in a home in Salt Lake. I am SO mad right now! I don't understand why one bad thing after another keeps happening to our family. Well, to top it off, my mom's insurance called her a few hours ago to tell her that they will only pay for 5 days in the nursing home - WHAT??? My dad doesn't qualify for rehabilitation, so they won't pay for anything other than that. My mom is just beside herself! And, I don't know what to do to help her right now. I guess I'm struggling to understand why God has decided to throw this at us. I know it's not his fault - and, please forgive me for talking this way - but, hasn't my dad been through enough in his lifetime? And my mom? People keep saying that God has a plan and that we are meant to learn from our trials, but I am sick of it!!! What are we supposed to do and what are we supposed to learn? I am having a hard time keeping the faith right now...

Bree's first day of preschool was today - and she was SO excited! I know she's going to have a great year. Her teacher is Miss Annette and Jack had her when he was 4. She is AMAZING! I am so excited for Bree and this upcoming school year!!

Kid's Update

So, I didn't really get the chance to update what the kids have been up to last month - so I'll do it now. On the 5th of August my best friend Kristina's mom took me and the kids to the Dinosaur Museum. The kids loved it! Thank you so much Lynette for adopting us for the day :).

Bree also had her dance concert on the 14th - a previous blog had the drama of getting her leotard, etc. (thanks Kristina!). Unfortunately, we only got one BAD picture before our camera died... Our good friends the Reese's took video for us - thank you! But, she did great.
And, Jack started a new school on the 20th - it is still undecided if he likes it or not. His teacher is Mrs. Emfield (which I don't know if he likes her either). I'm really hoping that he starts liking school - I really want him to have a great year!
